Many years ago I used to travel weekly to the city of Maracaibo as my dad lived there with my uncles and grandparents. I also attended an English course and had several friends who lived in that city, so we always made plans to go out and party.
Then life took many turns when my dad sold the house where we lived here in Cabimas and we ended up living there for a few months. I liked it a lot because it is a very big city and there were many things to do. Although my husband and I went out very little because our son was a baby and in the area where we lived we were very far from downtown.
Then my family and I became independent and went back to live in Cabimas and the visits to Maracaibo were from year to year. Until my dad sold everything and left the country to Ecuador and I never went to that city again.
Several years went by without going until this year when I went again for some shopping I had to do for my previous project. It is quite a long and tiring trip but it is worth it because the prices and the variety of products available there is great.
I would like soon to have the opportunity to go again to do some shopping and to be able to walk with my family. We will see what happens next year.
Hace muchos años solía viajar semanalmente a la ciudad de Maracaibo ya que mi papá vivía allá junto a mis tíos y abuelos. También asistía a un curso de inglés y tenía varios amigos que vivían en esa ciudad, por lo que siempre hacíamos planes para salir de fiesta.
Luego la vida dio muchas vueltas cuando mi papá vendió la casa donde vivíamos acá en Cabimas terminamos viviendo unos meses allá. Me gustaba mucho porque es una ciudad muy grande y había muchas cosas para hacer. Aunque mi esposo y yo salíamos muy poco porque nuestro hijo era un bebé y en la zona donde vivíamos estábamos muy retirados del centro.
Ya luego mi familia y yo nos independizamos y volvimos a vivir en Cabimas y las visitas a Maracaibo eran de año en mil. Hasta que mi papá vendió todo y se fue del país a Ecuador y no volví a ir más a esa ciudad.
Pasaron varios años sin ir hasta este año que volví a ir por unas compras que debía hacer para mi anterior proyecto. Es un viaje bastante largo y cansón pero vale la pena hacer esto pues los precios y la variedad de productos que se consiguen allá es grande.
Me gustaría dentro de poco tener la oportunidad de ir nuevamente para hacer algunas compras y poder pasear con mi familia. Ya veremos lo que ocurre el próximo año.
