Hello Photogaphy Friends,
This is my entry to the Deranged Photography Contest: Buildings and I want to take a change in the Professional tier. More information about this contest hosted by @derangedvision here.
This pictures is of a building in my hometown in Belgium. It's called Hof Van Riemen. His origins lead us
back to the Middle Ages. The oldest well-known owner is Jan van Riemen. Traces of this man can already be found in 1376 in
archival documents. The name 'Hof van Riemen' is thus explained. 'Van Riemen' is therefore a family name.
In the 16th century the Hof van Riemen came into the hands of the De Cuypere family. In that period
the new house was built in traditional brick and sandstone style. That's the building that is still there today.
In 1980 the Hof van Riemen was expropriated and entirely in the hands of the municipal administration. In the mid-90's of last
century it became under the impulse of the municipality in collaboration with the Royal Heemkring Die Swane thoroughly restored. The Hof van Riemen received a
new destination. Among other things, a restaurant was housed and numerous other cultural activities took place and are still taking place there.
The three pictures are HDR's from various shots. I did some different adjustments to create different moods. I personally prefer the first one.
Good luck to everyone in both tiers!
