I'm not really sure of this spider name and species but based on google search, it is the Cyrtophora spider, the tent-web spiders. A spider that I encounter during my photo hunt at Kundasang National Park last two weeks ago. I've seen quite a lot of a spider web around the trees but didn't encounter a single spider this big until I found this particular one. According to Wikipedia, this is a genus of orb-weaver spiders first described by Eugene Simon in 1895. Although they are in the "orb weaver" family, they do not build orb webs. Their tent-like highly complex non-sticky web is sometimes considered a precursor of the simplified orb web. Here is the source of (Cyrtophora Spider) description that you can read for more information.
