So my husband and I were at Lot 10 last weekend and I was desperately looking for a washroom to use.
That was when I found out that all washrooms in Lot 10 charges a minimum amount of RM0.50 or even RM2 at some more "premium floors". I decided to just enter one in the Ground Floor while my husband walked around in this market, waiting for me.
He then found a stall really interesting selling wood engraving coasters, chopping boards etc. We can just pay the price of the item and get a free engraving! He was looking at a chopping board for his parents' new house.
We saw one with the perfect bible verse as it is our core belief too in our home. So I asked the seller if we can have the exact words and design on a bigger chopping board.
She said it can be done. I was happy then she asked me if we wanted to engrave the names of the gift recipients as well. Then I had a hard time to decide between their names or Dad and Mum hahahha. Finally I thought maybe have their names on it instead.
We paid and walked over to their engraving machine to have a look. It had a certain scent as I believe it was ink engraving on wood. Was quite a process to look at. We did not wait for ours to be done but we walked around. Saw a piano placed there in the market for anyone to play and I kept asking if the husband wanted to try because he can play and I cannot. Hahaha he did not want to. So we went for dinner and later came back for our personalized chopping board.
Wow it was so beautiful!
Okay I think it isn't big enough to serve a lot of food on it but it can be used to serve snacks or a small cheese platter. I very like how the engraving looks on it. Well I like personalised stuff with names on it so this is my thing!!!
We then walked around and I bought some preserved guava which I could not stop snacking on, oops!!!
We hope my parents-in-law like this small gift as part of their new home. Of course I am still looking for other gifts as well, but I will ask my mum-in-law what else she needs on her list.
