My sister and family came for a visit last Saturday. I haven't seen them for months since April and I long to be united with them again.
Growing up with just one year apart, my sister and I did almost everything together. My mum sometimes even dressed us up the same until some were confused and thought we were twins. After all me being just 12 months ahead of her, how much taller could I get right?
So we fought when we were young and we also played together when we were young. We did most things together and were each other tuition companions especially in the long hours waiting for our dad to pick us up. I don't know what I would do without her.
After we grew up, we had our own set of friends but then after college and university days we suddenly became the best of friends again. We chat almost everyday. Now we literally chat every day over WhatsApp and share many many things in the same interest ie. Parenting, food, clothes shopping online etc.
When she has her own child, I was incredibly thrilled and I became an aunt who loves buying things for him too. Of course I love seeing my this nephew who speaks a lot for his young age in his low bass voice that I enjoy listening to.
Finally we met at their staycation hotel at VE Hotel and Residences. They stayed here in their previous staycation too and this time though raining, we got to check out their pools. My boys did not go in to swim but her son insisted. So he went with his dad until they noticed his fingernails turning blue so quickly got him out of the water and wrapped him up like a burrito to keep him warm.
After that it was dinner in the hotel suite with my sister's parents-in-law too. They are very friendly people who treat my children like their own grandchildren especially her mum-in-law. They are so happened to be my parents' friends too before these two knew each other. Hence my family is originally rather close with them too.
Then right before leaving, my youngest son and my nephew started playing chasing and catch as well as hide and seek. They were having so much fun just chasing and their laughters were the brightest music in the room. Love seeing that sight. These two are 10 months apart so I really wish they can meet more and play together more. Their personalities also are almost the same - insisting to do things such as wearing shoes on their own now at this age and refusing every help the adults offer. See how these two hugged each other before leaving, awwww!
After we said goodbye to the sister's family, my youngest son who is now very fond of Christmas trees went to touch and admire all the Christmas trees around the hotel. Everywhere is decorated nicely with so much effort to celebrate this occasion now. Love it!!! Christmas is a good time to meet our family! So glad the sister's family could drive up to Kuala Lumpur for a few days stay.
