I've decided to have a quick escape from the hustle and bustle in the city and to breathe fresh air after getting sick the past few days and thankfully I feel a bit better now. That's the reason that I've been all over the place recently and too many backlogs and workloads to catch up.

I am bringing you today to Olango Island which is just offshore from Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City. It takes approximately 30 minutes by boat to reach Olango from Mactan Island. Olango Island is known to be an Island Wildlife Sanctuary for migrating birds from other countries. Our first stop is in TayTayan Camp, Olango Island.

We planned to go overnight camping but unfortunately I forgot my tent so we just decided to go on a Day trip. As far as I remember, I spent 40 php (0.71 US Dollar) for one way boat fare. We first visited the TayTayan Camp in Brgy. San Vicente along the way going to Sta. Rosa, Olango wherein you can rent rooms or camping tents for an overnight stay. It's better to bring tents so you only have to pay 50.00 php (1 US Dollar).

They have tent-like wooden rooms which are already good for two and camping tents just a few meters away from the waterside. I think it's a safe place to camp since there are attendants most of the time and it's a gated area.

Just across the camping site, there's a resto bar where you can spend the night with your friends.

Renting a motorbike is very convenient to go to different places on the Island however we didn't avail the ride since it's overpriced which costs 100 pesos (2 US Dollars) per hour excluding the gasoline so we just decided to commute our way to the nearest seafood restaurant.

That's basically it, I hope you liked this episode and I hope to interact with you in the comment section below. Everyone's glad to hear the stories of yours! Just always remember that learning is a lifetime process. You can learn from your experiences, trips and from other people. The world is so vast. Explore and Learn! Traveling isn't is as expensive as you think! There's a so called travelling on a frugal way with a purpose!

DEUCES!

Regards,
@itinerantph
