Weekend well spent! We finally had our first ever team building which took almost a year of staying in the company. I just have mixed emotions as I write this blog. I've worked with the company for almost nine months and sadly I've decided to look for greener pasture somewhere else. Technically, I'm no longer part of the team or company but my former supervisor and company friends still wanted me to join the team building. Actually I thought of not joining the event because I was really trying to avoid getting further attachments with the people I worked with who became one of the significant people in my life already. I'm a type of person who easily gets attached with people and it truly hurts when the time comes that you have to part ways. I can never about my previous company because it did really help me become a better version of myself. It just so happened that I needed to resign for career growth and I needed to look for higher pay since we're currently having financial problems in our family.
Anyway, before this blog gets way too emotional, let me just share this most significant experience of mine and hopefully this would help as well if ever you're planning to visit the place. As mentioned, we held the team building activity at Cordova Beach in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. The place "Cordova" is famous for beautiful beach resorts and recently built floating cottages. It became viral on social media for it has been named as "Maldives" of Cebu. I will just set your expectations that it might looked nicer during its first few days of opening but it has become commercialized having more floating cottages built in the area so it makes the place very crowded and unclean. I believe that the place has just been overrated by content creators online which made people swarm the place.
If you're planning to visit and rent a cottage, it's better to make a reservation in advance. In our case, we rented the floating cottage for 3,500 pesos(62.56 US Dollars). As for me, it's just overpriced knowing the place isn't really worth the price and it failed to meet my expectations. There's always first time for everything so no regrets. I believe that what matters most is the moment we had together as a team and we're able to make the event successful.
If you are outside Lapu-Lapu City, you can take a jeepney or a bus heading to Soong. You may just inform the driver to drop you off at the crossing. Then from there, you can just take a motorcycle ride going to the Cordova Beach port. The drivers already know where the place is, so there's nothing to worry. Then, finally you can take a boat ride going to your booked cottage by informing your boatman about the cottage details.
Finally we've started the program of the event, we first had a prayer followed by awarding ceremony. I feel really bless for I got four awards for having perfect accuracy for my quality assurance audits and being one of the incentives achiever for two consecutive months. We prepared lots of foods and drinks. We had sing and dance activities and games with cash prizes. I'm just really happy to have gained a memorable moment with them before I embark a new journey with my new company. We ender the event at exactly 5PM since it was said that the place will undergo a long period of rehabilitation to clean the water as it was found out that the water is unclean and unsafe for constant use. The overall experience was totally great.
That's basically it, I hope you liked this episode and I hope to interact with you in the comment section below. Everyone's glad to hear the stories of yours!
