I woke up this morning feeling very creative. I had slept very well the previous night and I woke up rejuvenated. However something strange happened. I felt my face tightened, i tried to express a smile which should happen naturally, but I couldn't.
I felt my face giving off a different expression which was quite different from what I was actually feeling inside of me. The feeling inside of me was that of refreshment, someone who has been refurbished and packaged and I felt a rush of vigor inside of me. Then I began to wonder. How is it possible to wear a feeling of sadness or pain in contrast to what one is actually feeling?
In reality, humans are very good with masking their original feelings and emotions. Sometimes people do this to actually create an idea that they're strong. We humans, we're very impressionistic. creating impression is how we tend to subconsciously communicate.
Sometimes I feel that when we subconsciously communicate, we tend to create a deeper connection. Somebody can evoke or cause another person to react in ways which they originally wouldn't, all because they're moved by their emotion to react differently to a different form of emotion. When you look at social media for example, the picture of a child in the storm, crying with no clothes on can spark a feeling of outrage, a feeling of pity, companion, pain, then finally anger.
Now, impressions can be deadly, because it can wrongly induce feelings to be channelled wrongly. Here's a proof. For example, when I wake up, I used to take time to mediate, weigh the situations in my life. Deep down, I begin to think of how I can conquer different obstacles, think of how I can beat the world at it's own game, while attaining fufilment or satisfaction for each new day.
Now, throughout this period, anyone who sees me might think I was saddened by something in my life but this might totally be the case. However, we live in a world where people might not physically embody their emotion, but they wouldn't waste time doing so on social media. This might looking contrasting, but it's a perfect juxtaposition of what our reality is like.
However, people try as much as possible to hide their feeling in real life.
This is put on a show of strength. Sometimes people smile and deep down they're sad and agonized and rarely, in some exceptional situations, people look sad by they're actually not However, there are people who portray their feeling with the appropriate facial expressions.
However, in these pictures, I wasn't feeling sad or happy, Just emotionless and trying to only create a sombre impression with my edits.
So I took this shot on my iPhone 12, I had to select a dramatic warm effect, I reduced the exposure, added some saturation, the vibrancy and of course, I change the perspective, then properly cropped the pictures.
I took three of them, I didn't know if the emotions I tried to portray had the right effect.
But the only way I can get to find out is by asking; How you feel by looking at these pictures, what is your artistic view concerning the picture? Do you think the emotions looked real? Plus..... Do you think I could have done better?
