My mother loves her ornamental plants and she would spend most of her time tending them. For over two years living here in Bohol, it was already a usual scene seeing her wake up each day greeting her plants and celebrating as she sees new flowers bloom. What's so good with photographing flowers is that they don't move unless there's wind around so it is very easy to capture them.

With just a wider aperture, getting a nice bokeh is possible while focusing on the subject itself makes the image pretty attractive. I used to take photos of just flowers back then. Now, I am able to somehow learn that getting all my photos focusing on one item only is boring. Shallow depth of field is not a measure of a photo's beauty. In fact, over the years, I learned to love landscape photography where most of the environment is in focus too!

With this, I can appreciate the environment, and the beauty of landscapes, and surroundings. Zooming out makes a great impact on photos and there are just times when you should get a wide lens to be able to freeze a moment.

In this post, you'll see our neighborhood aside from my mom's most beloved ornamental plants and flowers!
