Happy Tuesday Hivers!

Dauis is one of the municipalities in Bohol that is close to Panglao. Dauis and Panglao are the two municipalities in the southwest of Bohol island that are separated from the mainland. There are two ways to get to Dauis from Tagbilaran: you can take the bridge from Tagbilaran located at the back of St. Joseph Cathedral Church, or the other bridge a few meters away from the church. We chose the latter when we visited Dauis as it was more accessible to us.

The alluring beauty of the clear turquoise water compelled me to ask the driver to stop for a photo. Fortunately, he was understanding and supportive, granting me a few minutes to soak in the scenery.

On the opposite side of the bridge, the scenery is not as enchanting as on the other side, as all you can see is a mangrove swamp.

We headed to Dauis Church after stopping at the bridge. The ancient yet newly renovated and repainted church greeted us upon arrival. Similar to other ancient churches, you can also see arches in the architectural style of the church and its wall are made of coral.

According to history, this church became the parish church of Nuestra Señora de Asuncion in 1697. However, the belfry was only built in 1774. Both of them were constructed a long time ago.

I went to the back part of the church, and the ancient belfry was situated there. The back part of the church has not undergone renovation, so this part clearly shows its antiquity, unlike the front area.

Because the church is situated near the coastal area, its atmosphere is cool and refreshing. Anyone can relish looking at the seawater after attending a church service.

In the park, there is a display featuring the word 'Dauis,' adding to the park's appeal and aesthetic.

Seeing those marvels of Dauis made this trip to Bohol great. After touring around, we decided to depart as it was almost lunchtime.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
