Day two of the London trip
As I mentioned in my last post, the second day of the trip was also super adventurous. The main thing we did that day was to visit the Natural History Museum, which had dinosaur exhibits and many other things. But before I tell you about everything, I have to say that after the first day my and Olive's legs were so tired that we decided it was time to use more subways.
A morning stroll through Hyde Park
Our day started with breakfast at our hotel, where I asked my girlfriend to order me pancakes. You don't even know how surprised I was when the waiter brought me crepes with spinach, tomatoes, and egg. Nevertheless, it was really tasty. Then after breakfast, we decided it was time to walk around Hyde Park and I can tell you right away that it is beautiful and peaceful. I could really live by it and take my dog for walks. Interestingly, the park is full of squirrels, which are not afraid of people and even come up by themselves. In the park itself, we also visited Kensington Fingers, a very nice palace, and a beautiful fountain.
Walking through the Natural History Museum
Due to the early reservation to enter the museum, we had to rush to get there but you will not guess what happened on the spot. Despite the reservation of free tickets you did not need to have anything with you. Gates were open for everyone and the staff did not check anything. But never mind time for a story about the museum. In general, I really liked the exhibition on dinosaurs, I do not know why, but despite the fact that I have seen them so many times before I feel delighted that such animals once lived on earth. In addition to the dinosaur exhibition, there were also other animals, both marine and land. They did not impress me as much, but the exhibition of stones was great. On display were both diamonds, emeralds, and even a large fragment of an asteroid. Unfortunately, we got very tired so we gave up seeing everything.
Unlucky lunch
The next stop was lunch, unfortunately, we ended up at what was supposed to be a market but was actually a bunch of restaurants, but we were so hungry we had to eat something. I decided that I want to have lasagna, it was even tasty but it could be better seasoned. Interestingly, we got free ice cream for Olivia's birthday, and the waitress was Polish. You're probably
wondering why I called it an unlucky dinner, I'll explain everything. It was because we paid 60/70 pounds for everything and the food was average, which later turned out that there were much better restaurants on Piccadilly Circus and cheaper.
Buckingham Palace
After eating some cake and getting our strength up we decided to take a walk to see what was there at the royal palace. Unfortunately, we hit a major remodeling around pay, and as a result, most of it was closed or covered up. Fortunately, somehow we managed to get under the gate of the palace and see the guard. I'll tell you that I admire them because in this weather so many hours is really a feat.
Last stop on the second day
As our last destination, we chose Piccadilly Circus which was very busy and full of people. Olive and I also found a Lego store where the latest Star Wars Legos were being released. We also visited the M&M store and the whole Chinatown. We liked it so much that we stayed there until the end of the meal walking around and drinking. The interesting fact is that there are a lot of casinos and cinemas.
