The bar/restaurant was really packed and lively. The poor staff were worked to the bone.
The exterior of the yakiniku place. It is a lot more active inside than it looks.
A nice cocktail to start. And green tea to "wash" down the oil from the BBQ meats. That's actually a very "Chinese" thing to do. :) Does it work? Who knows? No harm doing it right?
A nice pint of Beer too!
Wagyu Beef Tartare. Yummy! A good quality well prepared beef tartare is amazing.
A very unique Potato Salad! It has cheese and minced meat inside. And on top of it was a nice Onsen Egg. This is probably the nicest potato salad I've ever had.
Ox Tounge with spring onion (Negi-tan)
That delicious meat on the charcoal grill. Yummy!
I can't quite remember what this is, but I would venture to say it was the Beef Short Rib with Garlic. It's delicious btw.
An assortment of the day's specials. Basically, leave it to the chef to give us a platter of good meats.
I was introduced to this Yakiniku place called Don-Don 2, which I later found out was a slight expansion next door of the not so originally named Don-Don Singapore 1st. (I guess the boss wasn't feeling imaginative?) Interestingly, I found out that this restaurant's HQ is in Osaka, so it's pretty authentic.
The interior of the place is really lively. There're lots of decorations all over the place and needless to say, the place was packed. The negative thing was that it was pretty smokey. It seems the big crowd BBQ-ing their food and the less than ideal ventilation system has resulted in this atmosphere. It wasn't suffocating, but my attire would be completely smoked through and through by the time my night was over.
The meats we ordered were really good and of course, it all goes well with lots of alcohol! The photos don't quite show the full spectrum of meats we ordered. Unfortunately, Liketu limits photos to a maximum of 10, so I had to just pick a few which best seemed to show the meal.
I would definitely come back here again. The food is really good and the pricing is reasonable too. Since I love yakiniku and a good round of drinks too, I think this will be a place I will come to often. :)
