When life gives you lemons, just buy a Giant Candy Stick! With that amount of sugar, the only thing that you can get is sweetness! :)
Which came first? The Candy or the Egg?
just pile on the sweets in my bag.
Let's tuck in. The food wasn't horrible by any sense, but it wasn't what I remembered it.
Tonkotsu Soup broth ramen with charshu.
Black Garlic Tsukemen
The dipping sauce for the tsukemen is extremely savoury.
Some gyoza as my appetizers.
Fried crispy squid. Makes for a nice munch while waiting for the mains to arrive.
After a breif interlude of a single day, marking a break in my choice of Japanese for dinner, I'm back at it again. :)
After shopping around in town, I popped into the first Japanese eatery I saw, which happened to be Menya Mushashi. Not the legendary warrior, but the famous ramen shop. I do love that they have Tsukemen instead of just the usual soup broth ramen. Tsukemen uses a slightly thicker kind of noodles and a hot savoury dipping sauce. It's really tasty and is a different experience entirely.
Unfortunately, after my orders came, I felt that it wasn't quite what I remembered. The overall standard of the food at Menya Mushashi seems to have dropped considerably over the years. It could be that this was just something to do with this branch, but I doubt so. I dug into some reviews and they were far from flattering to say the least. What a pity. They really were quite good just a couple of years back.
If dinner does not fully satisfy you, it's time for something sweet in your life! I went to some new candy shop which sold gigantic candy sticks. I didn't get those (which were quite costly btw) but did fill out a bag of sweet treats for myself. At least I felt better after this. :)
