My special order of the seasonal "Dirty Espressomatcha". Wavy blends of the Matcha mixed with the Coffee as they fused together.
Up Up and Away!
This was barely halfway up the first 4 floors of the super high escalator. Gotta grip onto those handles properly!
The cafe seating area next to one set of escalators. Strange how it doesn't look that high from down here.
A nice relaxing seat inside The Coffee Academics.
Their classic cappuccino was great too!
A lovely cake for tea! Earl Grey Crepe Cake.
Coffee and Cake. Life is great. :)
I went to one of the really popular and iconic malls in Hong Kong — Langham Place, to shop around and also get my fix of coffee. This mall is probably the largest one in Mong Kok and it is also connected to the similarly named Langham Hotel. All I can say is that they have REALLY long escalators! In fact, these escalators go from the 4th to 8th floor, and then from the 8th to 12th floor. It is definitely not for anyone who has a fear of heights!
Needless to say, when in Hong Kong, you must go for foods/beverages which are famous locally. Ignoring all the numerous coffee chains, I went for The Coffee Academics which was rated by The Telegraph as one the world's best coffee shops! While they might have a few outlets in Singapore, having expanded greatly overseas since their fledging days, it was the originals that I was interested in.
I went for their seasonal special, a "Dirty Espessomatcha", which I have to say was really photogenic. The blend of colours and the latte art made it one of those picture perfect things. Fortunately, it taste as good as it looked and wasn't something created just for social media's sake. Their standard Cappuccino was really good too. I can see why they won so many coffee awards. I have to say that the ones in Hong Kong are much better than in Singapore, which have gotten quite a lot of complaints about inconsistent quality.
I had a nice Early Grey Crepe Cake to go with my coffee too while I just relaxed and chilled there for abit in order to rest my tired legs. Going on a holiday can be really tiring. Well, after all that, it was off to shop around in this massive mall. :)
