Hi guys, this will be my first time to post in Liketu. For this post, I will share just two photos of my favorite food that I had last week. Aside from travelling, my wife and I like to eat at various restaurants and try different cuisines especially Asian dishes. I just don't have the time to blog about them. I have discovered Liketu and I hope to start sharing those content that I have with the rest of you through this platform. (Warning: I am not the type of person sharing my photos all over the Web, so expect most of the time that I won't be in the photo).
I love Indian food and even if the nearest Indian restaurant from our place is 20kms away, we don't mind driving to the place from time to time to enjoy some Indian dishes. The place I am referring to is called The Tandoor Tavern. It is located at the town of Otorohanga, in the Waikato Region, in New Zealand. It is easily accessible as they are located along the town's main street. During lunch, they have the so-called "lunch special" in which they serve an Indian curry dish, coupled with naan bread, a piece of Papadum and a choice of soda drink; all for $14.99 (NZD).
Every time we visit the place, I will order two pieces of Samosa ($6.99) - it's not part of the lunch deal which my wife and I will share. My wife's usual order is Butter Chicken (I didn't take a photo of it as I haven't thought that time that I will be sharing it here. Going back to samosa, it is a fried baked pastry with filled with potatoes, onions, and peas. Their tamarind sauce is superb!
My all-time fave for the main dish is Chicken Tikka Masala. It is a dish consisting of boneless chicken pieces (the one I have had a combination of thigh and breast parts) marinated in spices. The chicken is grilled first, then it is mixed in a spiced tomato-cream sauce. I have tried various Indian restaurants and this one is the best. The naan bread is also great, though you need to eat it first as it will harden the moment it cooled.
