Self assembled croissant sandwich with fresh salad. It isn't as hard as you think; but you do need to do some running around gather the right food you desire.

It may look cheap in terms of USD, which is around $3.32; but I am not earning US dollars and spending in Malaysia, which is now 4.5x weaker against the dollar. 😑

Oh did you know that wraps actually cost more than the fresh baked breads in Malaysia? Especially those that are designed without wraps, the same ingredients with additional cost if you wish to "eat healthier" (rejecting their buns)

During one of the lazier days I have decided to throw in a hotdog instead of hard-boiled / scrambled eggs.
These days, an egg cost equivalent (if not more) of a processed meat hotdog.

These days, the food ordered outside is getting more and more expensive due to the Goods and service tax and labour charges. A subway sandwich that used to cost less than $2.50 USD now charges a wooping minimum of $3 USD. That's already minimum MYR13.60.

Even a simple ready made egg mayo sandwich can cost up to almost $1.80 - $2 USD. That is around MYR8 if you are earning and spending in Malaysia.

It has unfortunately come to a time where we revert back to the basics

Creating our own sandwiches either at home or in the office.

Fortunately thanks to @gtpjfoodbank , there were additional frozen croissants we can acquire (barter - with rice / oil for the recipients and in return have these yummy croissants), and with that I can assemble with other ingredients I liked; like cheese, lettuce (fresh salads), dressing of my own liking, and even hotdog sausage on a lazy day.

The frozen croissants are easy since I have an entry size air fryer. And the secret tip to revive frozen bread / pastry, is to sprinkle some water on it before setting to bake / air fry.

I actually let cool fresh water run through the surface of the croissant before air fry it. And it will come out flaky like freshly baked!

If using oven, just spray on will do to avoid being overly wet

I even made a YouTube Shorts https://youtube.com/shorts/Nk1EnlZ_YVc and you can see I even tried "baking an egg" with a waffle machine in the office: keeping the ingredients as freshly prepared as possible.

So far these Giant Croissant Sandwiches have pretty much lasted me like 4 - 5 hours, paring with coffee and a banana / fruit. It fits well with my busy schedule and my discipline of having 2 meals a day (practicing intermittent fasting).

Does it cost less / more than a mere subway?

So far counting out the cost of the croissants, it sometimes round up to 20% - 50% cheaper, depending on what kind of filling I want it inside; especially eggs now cost around 25 cents (or more) each.

But it sure beats the constant expenses for $4.50 - $5 USD a day (around MYR20 - 23) with brewwd coffee in the long run.

Let the rest of my savings go into setting aside for broker investment and let it work for me.

Hey @littlenewthings, here is a little bit of BEER from @fusion.lover for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

They look really delicious! These are huge portions and glad to know that they fill you up most of the day!
Pretty sure they are good with beer too on a hot Summer's day.

!BEER

haha thanks sis it does fill up a lot but unlike the Subway sandwich which is dense, it doesn't last as long.

After this round I am planning to get tortia wraps and pack up like this to see will it be equivalently filling
