I think hoverflies are one of the neatest little bugs around. They can almost look like they are molded out of plastic when you get a nice, sharp image of one, but they are the real deal. They like to hover, sometimes in a single spot, for a very long time. I find they will almost approach as if they are trying to say hi. I think the yellow flowers really suit the colors of this one, and as I was using a 40mm macro lens, I had to get quite close to get some great images, which didn't seem to bother this little flying creature.
