This new Deranged Photography competition has shown the theme of the week, which is the color yellow.
I love entering photo contests like this because I like to get a theme and then try to figure it out. From a photographic point of view, I think there are two trends in solving the requirements of a contest...
Applied and professional photographers take the camera and try to photograph something special and as original as possible.
Amateur photographers, like me, look through old photographs to find something that was taken by chance but fits the requirements of the contest.
At first, I was looking for yellow flowers. The easiest to find... and that's why I didn't want to use them.
So I found photos from a street demonstration in the city of Iasi in Romania. A city where I lived for almost a year. One of the most beautiful cities in the country.
People have different, often divergent views. When one group of people wants to impose something or demand something, this can upset another group of people. That's why both sides need to be protected. That's how these mounted policemen appeared, carrying with them the yellow color I needed!
My entry in this contest is in Amateur Tier.
Vox populi, vox Dei, which means "The voice of the people is the voice of God."
This Latin expression used more in the abbreviated form "Vox Populi" is used especially by politicians and media when referring to the people and their wishes. When they say the people, they are actually referring to a certain fraction of the population of those people who, at a certain point in time, get together and demand something. When they want their desire to accede to the desire of the government and the political factor, when they want to impose (or also demand the removal of) certain laws. In general, the voice of the people is expressed when people are unhappy about something. There are so many reasons for discontent. Some are real and some are the result of campaigns and maneuvers to manipulate the masses.
Manipulating the masses of dissatisfied people has become a habit in human society and has even become an art of manipulation since there are so many tools to help this, primarily social networks. The ideal place to confuse people. The ideal place where all sorts of adventurers, gurus, politicians, and crooks manage to find followers to follow them in all sorts of dubious campaigns...
Unfortunately, the people think they have a voice but it is no longer theirs!
P.S. Only after I published the post did I see that my yellow is not really yellow. I must have some eye problem. I think this post can be considered out of contest. Thank you!
A note: @moonappics is @bluemoon's second account. After more than two years of inactivity, @moonappics wants and tries a second existence in Hive. I would like to point out that @moonappics and @bluemoon have a common photo base and there is no unauthorized use. Thank you!
