Hey everyone! Another milestone for my young ones. The other day we got my 7yo a new bike. It was long overdue, since he has been riding the bike he learned on, and was had outgrown it. It was on it's last leg. So we went to the local bike shop, and let him pick out one he liked. I have to say it is a really cool one, and I would of loved to have one just like it at his age!
So we went out Sunday, just him, and my 4yo son. My 4yo has had his Spider Man bike since Xmas, but has not rode very much. Now that he sees his older bro riding his, he has ben on it more the past week then he has the past year!
I took them to a path that is perfect for the boys to get the hang of riding. The little one just needs to build that muscle memory, which I think is there. But he needs to get better looking at his surroundings. Otherwise he did great. The oldest just needs to get used to the hand breaks. He did ok, but in some cases he was trying to stop with his feet. I myself was on Roller Blades. The path is a nice spot. Other then being straight, and flat. The surface is smooth. Right next to it are row crops, and a canal for irrigation. Of course the guys has to stop a few times to throw rocks in it! It was a real nice day. I plan to go here a couple more times before I take them on a path that will be more busy. :)
