It was so timely to find an amazing place at the least expected moment. Earlier, I traveled from Bukidnon to Cagayan De Oro City to formally submit my teaching work requirements for a summer class at an institution.
I have mentioned in my previous post how happy I am to be hired as a Master's Degree Professor in one of the Graduate Schools in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, while at the same time, still with the Department of Education.
Feeling fulfilled, I went out of the institution with a joyful heart as I will be starting teaching next week. I got my teaching load and received my duties and responsibilities.
When I was about to leave the school, I saw my former classmate during my Doctorate Degree classes who was about to enter the Dean’s Office. It has been a while since we bonded with each other knowing that distance hinders us for she is living in the city, and I am dwelling by the mountains.
Four years passed after our graduation but nothing has changed. She was still the best classmate I have ever known. I truly screamed for joy and hugged each other tightly since it had been a while. Although many years have passed since we both graduated in Post Graduate Studies, I firmly believe that the connection was never broken even if years have passed.
Meanwhile, we both decided to have snacks nearby. She then suggested a cafe she once dined in, but little did she know that the former cafe transferred to another location and we ended up going to a beautiful cafe.
When I saw the costume with a Vietnamese style at the corner, the staff told me that I could freely wear it if I wanted to have a selfie. Excited as I was, I wore the costume and had a candid pose.
And yes, I found Vietnam in the Philippines, literally and figuratively. As I entered the cafe, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the atmosphere with the vivid colors and designs inspired by Vietnam's culture.
