So they celebrated independence yesterday 🙂
I was just in my own space, looking at people celebrating up and down
Felt weird though, because I'm still trying to figure out if we're truly independent as a country
Considering the level of foreign dept we keep hearing about everyday
Considering how all these so called leaders of ours have paid so much allegiance to the western world
Considering how these people have blindfolded us with education and religion, making our people loose those old time transitions and ways of lives of our fore fathers
Considering how we live our lives everyday, copying and trying to live like those who colonised our fore fathers 💔💔
I really don't think we're independent yet
And then, for someone like me who is still 150% dependent on parents,
I really don't have any reason to celebrate independence
Some of y'all may have become independent by now, and it's good, I'm happy for y'all
I wish y'all more grace to wax stronger 💪💪
But for those who are still dependent on parents, uncles, relations, strangers, etc, I wish us all physical, psychological, mental, and above all, financial independence as we witness the celebration 🙏❤️
I also pray for Nigeria as a country, that the will of God be done, that he gives us a Moses of our time, who will make us all smile again
Someone who will rewrite and reshape the story of our dear country
This is a big call for us all to get our PVCs ready in preparation for the upcoming election
And a call for us to vote with our conscience, because as it is now, I don tire to dey see shege
