At this time of the year in Venezuela, when the rains fall, many trees give incredible visual spectacles, it is impossible, at least for me, not to stop for a while to admire them and then share their beauty here.
The one I show you in the photos is a flamboyant (Delonix regia), a tree native to a place as far away as it is exotic: Madagascar. It has adapted very well here and can be seen all over the country offering its ample shade and stunning color.
Its intense red flowers are also known as “flowers of fire”, and apart from attracting looks, I read that they also have healing properties, in infusion they serve to relieve rheumatic pains and respiratory problems.
In times where the heat has increased considerably all over the planet, it is very valuable to take care of the trees and plant many more. Besides, if they are this eye-catching, much better, they change anyone's mood, don't you think?
En esta época del año en Venezuela, cuando caen las lluvias, muchos árboles dan unos espectáculos visuales increíbles, es imposible, al menos para mí, no pararme un rato a admirarlos para luego compartir su belleza por aquí.
El que les muestro en las fotos es un flamboyán (Delonix regia), un árbol originario de un lugar tan lejano como exótico: Madagascar. Se ha adaptado muy bien aquí y se le puede ver por todo el país brindando su amplia sombra y despampanante colorido.
Sus flores de intenso rojo también son conocidas como “flores de fuego”, y aparte de atraer las miradas, leí que también tienen propiedades curativas, en infusión sirven para aliviar dolores reumáticos y problemas respiratorios.
En tiempos donde el calor ha aumentado considerablemente en todo el planeta, es muy valioso que se cuiden los árboles y se siembren muchos más. Además, si son así de llamativos mucho mejor, le cambian el ánimo a cualquiera ¿no creen?
