Hello Liketu community, this is my first post here, I really hope you enjoy it.
I love taking photos on my trips, it is an amazing way to capture the moment and share a good time with everyone. As the saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words”, there is always something that words cannot describe, and that’s where pictures come to the rescue, LOL.
During my time in New Zealand, I spent most of the time in South Island, and I don’t think I gave the North island a fair share, so today I’m going to show you a popular destination if you visit Taupo, a central area of the North island, New Zealand — Huka Falls.
We actually visited Huka Falls on the way back from Tongariro Alpine Crossing — a day hike that you don’t want to miss if you are in the area.
But that’s for another post, just 10 minutes ride from the town center and a short walk from the carpark, you could hear the waterfall roaring from afar.
Walking along the footbridge, we were held in awe with the volume of the water, it is breathtaking.
The torrent and the color are amazing, apparently turquoise color of lakes and rivers is very common in New Zealand with lots of volcanic and glacial landscape.
The current is getting stronger as it runs along the gorge before pouring into the Waikato River.
We could only see the waterfall from the lookout, but we also spot a jet boat on the river, if you like an adrenaline boost, then the jet boat is a good idea to enjoy the waterfall and have a closer look.
I wish you could hear the water roaring and rumbling through the picture.
There are also some short tracks you can take to enjoy the scenery.
That’s all for now.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
