Camino a casa pasamos visitando a un vecino y venía con esta pera gigante...(es una calabaza) nos pidió el favor de llevarla a su casa porque él iba en bicicleta e iba a ser más complicado para él llevarla.
Desde que la ví comencé a decir que era una pera gigante y hasta comenzamos a pensar en colgarla de un árbol para que la gente la viese y se sorprendieran.
A todos los que se las he mostrado han quedado impactados por su tamaño y lo parecida que es a una pera...
Me llené de curiosidad y le pregunté qué era esto ya que no se me parecía a nada que haya visto antes. Me dijeron que era una calabaza y se da igual que las sandías, en el suelo y su hoja es ancha y grande.
Me comentaron que esto era utilizados antiguamente como una nevera para enfriar agua... Hace muchos años atrás, cerca de los pueblitos y zonas agricultoras.

On our way home we were visiting a neighbor and he came with this giant pear...(it's a pumpkin) he asked us to take it to his house because he was riding his bike and it was going to be more complicated for him to carry it.
Since I saw it I started to say that it was a giant pear and we even started to think about hanging it from a tree so that people could see it and be surprised.
Everyone I have shown it to has been shocked by its size and how similar it is to a pear....
I was filled with curiosity and asked what this was as it looked like nothing I had ever seen before. I was told that it was a pumpkin and it grows just like watermelons, in the ground and its leaf is wide and large.
I was told that this was used in the old days as a cooler to cool water.... Many years ago, near the small towns and agricultural areas.
