A creative day for my basic 3 learners. I went out of the usual learning style by giving them the opportunity to practicalize the process of tye dye themselves. The kids were so excited to be actively involved in the process.
The hands on method of teaching brings out the creativity spirit in young learners, it also broadens their knowledge and improve their self confidence in the subject matter.
Though at first, I thought of the hazards involved. Having young children around such toxic chemicals but then I had to mix the chemicals myself and gave the learners to apply.
They learnt different patterns in tye dye and had the choice to choose the style they love. The patterns includes spiral, bullseye, sunburst, vertical and horizontal.
They all went home with their personally designed tye dye shirts. I love to create positive memories with the kids.
After the class, I thought we could actually have a day set aside for exhibition, where their talents could be showcased to other parents. Perhaps some could be sold and we make money for the kids. Right? Going to work on that.
