The vast majority of people are music lovers, it gives us impulse, it frees us. It is the companion of every moment of our life in different emotions and complements us. We all have preferences, rhythms, styles, singers, bands and genres. There is a great variety of options and the best thing is that we are not limited, we can always choose what we like, and I want to tell you a little of the genre that caught me since I was young, the one that I consume the most and has allowed me to meet a diversity of incredible artists, the R&B.

The history of this musical genre is interesting, but to understand what R&B is, you have to go back to its roots in Rhythm and Blues, which originated in the United States in the late 1930s. The term was first used by the famous "Billboard" magazine in '49 to describe music created by artists with African-American roots that combined styles such as Gospel, Blues and Jazz. However, its first recognized appearances were in the early 40s.

Researching its origins I learned that between 1940 and 1970 Rhythm and Blues bands consisted of a piano, one or two guitars, bass, drums and one or two saxophones, usually accompanied by one or more vocalists.
