Meanwhile, the Amazon Handmade saga continues!
Just for grins, I've decided to post periodic updates on this experience, just to have a record of "how it went."
It has now been a week since I made the decision to put more effort into selling on Amazon Handmade's marketplace... but instead of populating my "store," I find myself still hanging out in limbo.
At my last update — three days ago — I had gone through the rather laborious process of actually getting help, eventually leading to a manual "case handler" taking on the situation.
Seems like that should have been a positive development, but is it really?
It this point, when I look at my internal "communication log" in my Amazon seller space, I still have the latest case open "pending action by Amazon," after three days of waiting.
Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, but I'm doing my best to keep a positive attitude.
The level of attention they pay to verifying seller could well be an indication that they really are cracking down of the sketchy seller accounts I have seen in the past.
In the meantime, I have the finished inventory I want to list lined up for photography, and I'll go ahead with that because I'll need photos even if I don't end up using them on Amazon.
The skeptic in me can't help but wonder if the slowdown is somehow related to them not allocating any resources to sellers who don't have the potential to be "the next Walmart."
Of course, that doesn't really make sense since this whole area of Amazon is allegedly dedicated to only handmade items.
Stay tuned for updates.
While waiting for the next step, I have been busy catching up with bookkeeping, as well.
Looks like Alchemy Stones will return to approximate pre-Covid sales levels again, in 2024... at least based on where I am at the moment, and the fact that we still have three more outside shows to do before the end of the year.
Now, if I could just get the online sales to roll, as well, life would be better!
Next on the agenda is a trip to the "big beach" on the Pacific coast... hopefully before the autumn storms get too severe.
Hopefully we can do that within the next couple of weeks!
