It's Go Time! Setting Up and Day One at the Show!

Coming to you in real time from the historic Port Gamble Theater in Port Gamble, Washington!

Going to attempt a "live" update, as time permits... and apologies in advance for the unedited photos.

Table pretty well set up!

We arrived around 2:00pm to start vendor setup. Port Gamble is a tiny town, about 45 minutes from our house. In a sense, the entire town is a small time capsule... all the buildings in town have been preserved pretty much as they were built, between 1850 and 1890.

Initial load-in was a good workout since this is an old building and the main hall where the vendors are set up is up a long flight of stairs.

Reminder to self: Rocks are heavy!

We have to make the most of a small space; we only have a single 72" by 30" table this time, much less than the usual "booth sized" space at other venues. But that's usually not an issue; we just go with our "small" setup.

Today, doors opened to general admission at 4:00 and we will be here till 9:30.

According to the introductory announcement, they have sold more tickets to this year's event than any before, and this is the 14th year. So that bodes well!

Unpacking...

We have already made a couple of sales this evening, so that's hopeful. However, we expect tomorrow and Sunday to be the busiest, with daily visitors coming over from nearby Seattle.

I think one of the main reasons we tend to do really well at Paranormal/Ghost/UFO type events is that people who tend to attend things like this tend to be really "open" and more receptive to responding to what is in front of them "by feel."

Based on experience, we get far fewer "stupid questions" with this demographic, and people are more interested in the actual work, rather than just wanting to know "what kind of paint do you use" and "how long does it take to paint a rock?"

Anyway, time for me to publish this update... we're coming up on another break between lectures, and people will start milling around again.

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!
