No one is truly aware of how fortunate they are. This doesn’t mean I am. It’s proven that we often care less about things that we were given for free.
You see a man in good health with a Buggati and you say: “wow, he has a Buggati.” Think about it, you have things that you wouldn’t trade for the world.
I’ll give you all the money in the world if you give up your health, family, and eyesight. Would that be a good offer?
I thought money matters the most at certain points in my life, but when I was offered a very rewarding job that would keep me away from my little brothers who are one year old. I then thought to myself: "An hour of playing with them and watching them grow before my eyes is worth more than all the money in the world."
I know I wouldn’t even think of trading my health, family, eyesight and a lot of many other blessings I have with anything else there is.
We are all guilty of being ignorant of how fortunate we are. The fact that you do not lack the most basic needs like water, food and fresh air makes you among the wealthiest.
This is never a call to not wish for more, but rather a call to fully appreciate what you already have, because what you have is worth much more than what you would like to have.
