With the advancement in technology, a lot has been going on in the Web3 space. Though scam has been in practice for a very long time, the online world has made it more known and practiced by people who see the internet as a way for fraud with billions of people at risk of getting scammed or their system hacked.

I have read stories and even got to witness how people close to me get scammed after building big in the online world and the crazy thing is that these people have found different ways to scam people so you can't be too careful because these scammers are around us.

For me, I have always been careful to click links I see anywhere or those even sent to me. Before clicking on a link sent by a close friend, I always make sure to interact with the person and get to know why that link was sent to me because it is sad but true that hackers use this method to get people on the contact list of the person hacked and spammed.

I have watched it play out and hope I never become a victim of that.

Yes, I have never been hacked before or even scammed before, and it is an experience I pray not to have because I know the high risk of damage it has done to even those around me. The troubles it brings and insults that may come your way are beyond one's imagination, especially when the person impersonates you.

There are different types of scams in the Web3 world ranging from gaming, online jobs, giveaways, and many more. Scammers use this to lure people into their website, which they end up taking over the person's account and sometimes life. As sad as it is, some people have lost their lives to this due to shock or depression that sets in after they are scammed.

To avoid getting scammed, we need to be super careful on the Web3 space. Not everyone we meet online is a friend, just as it is in our normal world, and being a victim is not an option.

Any keys of relevance used online should be kept safe and shouldn't be a casual thing that can be seen. And also create a strong password and have your authentication enabled turned on.

Discord for example.

Be careful of the app you give access to on your phone, and do not trust all the job ads or links you see online. Do not be desperate because desperation blinds our eyes to see things that are obvious.

When you are asked to log in through a link you got from a job online, do not just go into it blindly. Go online and do your research, and ask people you know closely in the web3 world. Do not just click because you need to be the first to apply or something. Like I said earlier, you can't be too careful. Your life's work or achievement can get ruined in a minute by the decision you make.

Also, if you are the type that joins online giveaways, do not be blinded by greed and let yourself be scammed. If you are someone who likes investing in projects, be sure you have the right information from the right source before putting your funds in.

Like I stated earlier, I have never been scammed or my device got hacked before so I really don't know much but I have read tweets from people, gotten close experiences from people around me and with that, I got to learn more about the new tricks in the Web3 world.

This is my response to @kenechukwu97 question here. You can join in as well and tell your story. I can wait to gather more experiences.

Still yours truly,
