¿Cómo están? Hoy me topé con un concurso de @friendlymoose titulado MI PAÍS, y me encantó la idea de mostrarle al mundo a través de unas fotos quiénes somos, qué nos identifica, o por qué visitar nuestro país. ¡Qué manera bonita de resaltar lo positivo!
A la vez es una tarea difícil, es que hay tanto para experimentar por acá, tanta comida rica, tanto paisaje que te deja boquiabierto, uno mismo nunca termina de conocer su país. Tenemos montañas, tenemos cerros, tenemos playas, ríos, lagunas, nieve, calor de 40º, salinas, reservas, ciudades inmensas. Ni hablar del asado, el vino y las empanadas…

We have mountains, we have hills, we have beaches, rivers, lagoons, snow, 40º heat, salt flats, reserves, immense cities. Not to mention the barbecue, the wine and the empanadas...

Sí! Esta es la foto que ganó mi ranking, el asado en familia.
Quien conoce Argentina sabe de lo que estoy hablando, nuestra carne es muy conocida en el mundo y créanme que tiene su motivo.
Lo especial de todo esto no es su sabor o forma de cocción (aunque, díganme si no les tienta la foto). Lo mágico es con quién lo compartimos. Una costumbre muy argenta es el “asado de domingo con la familia”, es lo que nos une a compartir un día a la semana con nuestros seres queridos, un momento que empieza quizás con un vino o un fernet, sigue con la parrillada, y termina con unos mates y facturas.
También es un buen motivo para juntarse con amigos, con ex compañeros de la escuela o del trabajo. Es como un ritual para nosotros los argentinos.

A very Argentine custom is the "Sunday barbecue with the family", it is what unites us to share one day a week with our loved ones, a moment that begins perhaps with a wine or a fernet, continues with the barbecue, and ends with some mates and facturas.

El mate es el gran compañero del 99% de los argentinos, es desayuno, es almuerzo, es merienda para muchos y cena para otros. No hay horario, no es como el té de las cinco. La verdad es que soy de esas personas que ama el mate en soledad y si estoy en la playa es perfección.
Lo tomamos amargo, con azúcar, con edulcorante, con hierbas, con limón, caliente, frio, en casa, en el trabajo o en una plaza. Ojalá algún día puedas probarlo, aunque no te garantizo que te guste de primeras! (escribo riéndome).

Mate is the great companion of 99% of Argentines, it is breakfast, lunch, snack for many and dinner for others. There is no timetable, it is not like tea at five o'clock. The truth is that I am one of those people who love mate alone and if I am at the beach it is perfection.
