entre los frutos y ramas de un árbol azotado por nuestra sequía.
Este verano caribeño nuestro
que se extiende, esconde y sorprende
con aguaceros inesperados y luego largas sopladeras,
con un sol a veces tortuoso y otras de primavera.
¿De qué se trata tu colecta?
¿Acaso son jugosos limones o guayabas de denteras?
¿Ponsigue pegostoso o mamones de peladeras?
¿Es tu cómplice la nube que sombrea tu travesura?
yo también lo soy, pues te vi sobre el techo,
escuché sonar el latón...
pensé: a este lo bajan a grito pelado...

This Caribbean summer of ours that extends, hides and surprises with unexpected downpours and then long winds, with a sun that is sometimes tortuous and sometimes spring. What is your collection about? Are they juicy lemons or jaw-dropping guavas? Does it get sticky or peeling suckers? Is your accomplice the cloud that shades your mischief?
