The Sindhi culture and civilization is 7,000 years old, making it one of the oldest civilizations in the world. This makes the Sindh Civilization a sister of the Nile river and Mesopotamian civilization as well.
Pakistan is a multi cultural land with a hige amounts of cultural diversity and traditions. In the south we have the Sindh Culture, in the north we have the Chitrali culture. In the west we have the Baloch culture and in the east we have the Punjabi culture. Each culture with its own traditional values and significance. Out of all of these the Sindhi culture is the oldest and the most decorated one.
Fortunately I live in the province Sindh which allows me to celebrate this culture day everyday. Though I firmly believe that a culture shouldn't be confined to a specific day, rather it should be celebrated every day of the day by demonstrating the culture amongst people. By showing love and compassion and by being there for people out there.
I study in the first and biggest Medical university of Sindh that was inaugurated after the name of the province. We celebrated the Sindh Culture day in which students and faculty members took participation together.
The attire of the Sindhis include 3 things.
shalwar kameez
topi
Ajrak
The culture day Celebration inaugurated by the a speech by the honory principal of our institute. In his speech he emphasized on the importance of cultural traditions in any society. In yhisyevent Chancellors of different universities from all over the Sindh were present as well.
After the welcoming note and speech of the principal, other guestss were also invited on the podium where they added to the principal's notes. Most of the speakers tried to make sure that on this cultural day they speak in the Sindhi Language as to emphasize on the importance of this language.
After the speeches all the guest speakers were presented with am Ajrak and topi by the head of our student council Dr Ahmed. After the presentation, all the speakers cut a cake.
The stage was then taken over by the students, where they danced, read sindhi poetry and sung sindhi songs as well. The students were present in this event, with full force as the whole seminar room was fully occupied. The enthusiasm amongst them was vivid and all of them cheered for the Sindhi culture.
I hope we get to celebrate such cultural days every day where the only message spread is love and harmony. That's it from my post
