Lake Louise Mountain Glacier

The thick snow and ice on top of this world-famous mountain at Lake Louise, Alberta, is part of a glacier that has been here for millennia. It recedes somewhat in the summer, and I think as temperatures have been hitting higher averages, we are seeing it recede a bit over time. It's something that I think will be really hard to gauge in the future as to how long this glacier will last.

For now I just enjoy it as it is; when you are looking out onto the lake, this mountain towers over everything, and many have likely seen at least one picture of Lake Louise with this mountain serving as the backdrop. If I can think of a spot to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of the world, this is one of the best that I know.

I really hope we can overcome climate change and save this glacier and all the others around the world.
