Braving the early morning cold can sometimes carry a reward with it; here it was a colorful sunrise that brought me to the top of a hill. The cold wasn't so bad; I am fairly used to it being a Canadian. The smoke being exhaled by the chimmneys, I think, really enhances these images, the streetlights, having a few clouds in the sky—all of these things help add a little more flair to the shots. The sun brings the colorful elements, and if I were here an hour or two later, there would be a much different feel and mood. So for the fleeting time that the sun is rising and adding some light and color, it demands I am in this place at the right time, and the cold is another motivator to keep moving and make sure I get the shots while there are out there to be had.
