The day begins one a chaotic note.. The day just started and I have seen good enthusiasm among the neigubours. Today is a special day, and the craze can be felt in the air. Even though the black clouds are hovering all over the sky still, it does not going to hamper the festival spirit. Today India is celebrating Vishwakarma puja. The day marks the worshipping of Lord Vishwakarma to honor the God who is known to be the architect and who created the entire universe and earth. On this day, people worship their machines, computers, vehicles, bikes, and other machinery, and pray to Lord Vishwakarma. So the day begun with people washing their vehicles early in the day.
The day long festival begins very early in the day. All the machinery equipments, tools were worshipped. While the adults busy in washing the heavy vehicle the kids were not far behind with their cycle out in open to be cleaned. They clean all the dirts and then wash them with soap water before putting garlands on them.
This is day, when many office and factories were closed. Workers marks the ocassion with full enthusiasm. They put up the vishwakarma idols at their work place and offer their prayer. The priest perform the Puja. In order to maintain the success and productivity of their work, they also pray for the smooth and effective operation of their equipment and tools. On the other hand the general public visit these plants and offices to celebrate the ocassion. In other words, it is a "no work day" for all the workers.
I went to get milk from market, only to find many shop opened quite early selling flowers, fruits, garlands. They know how to do business. Understanding to the public demands the market were already buzzing quite early in the day. Considering the importance of the day, I will perform my own rituals on my laptop and mobile. It is good to follow the culture and enjoy every ocassion.
Too early to predict the day, as the black clouds is ready to spoil the ocassion. It has been heavely raining since last few day and the situation does not appears better for today. Last year it was very sunny, and today it is cloudy. Nature is completelly unpredicatable. Hope the rest of the days goes in a better way. If I amange to move out to attend any of the Vishwakarma function, i will make sure to bring the highlights.
