As a 3D artist, one of the main tasks is to create 3D models using specialized software. These models can be used in various industries, including gaming. When it comes to tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons, 3D models are particularly useful for creating miniatures of the game's characters, monsters, and environments.
Sculpting is one of the key skills required for 3D artists working on tabletop games. Sculpting involves creating a 3D model by manipulating a digital mesh. There are different techniques for sculpting, but one popular method is called "digital sculpting." This technique involves using specialized software to shape a digital mesh, which can then be refined and detailed to create a final 3D model.
When creating 3D models for Dungeons and Dragons, there are some unique considerations to keep in mind. For example, the models need to be detailed enough to capture the unique characteristics of each character or monster, but not so complex that they are difficult to produce at scale. In addition, the models need to be designed to fit within a certain scale and size range, as they will be used in tabletop gameplay.
