The small castle in Prato, a nice city in Tuscany. ^_^

Hello hivers, an happy Friday to you all!
Yesterday me and my hubby was really excited because we ave to go to meet one of our friend (a known illustrator and a very nice person) in Bologna, a city not so far from our city. We decided to go there by train and so we started our trip thinking to spend some beautiful hours with our friend in a beautiful city. Well, our plain had some issues. There was an accident along the train way (fortunately nobody was injured) and so our train stopped its run in the train station of Prato, a city close to my city. We wait more than 1 hour to understand if we could continue our trip to our destination, but all the trains were blocked so we decided to visit Prato.

To be honest, I was not so happy to visit Prato instead of Bologna (a city I love so much), because I use to go to Prato very often (it's very close to me and our uncle lives there), while rarely I can go to Bologna that is 1 hour and half far from us. Well, we couldn't do anything to solve the situation, so we spent a little time in the small castle callled Emperor's Castle, built for the medieval roman emperor Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor. The interior was never finished because Frederick II died, but it's open to visit and we also climbed the ancient stairs up to the top of the castle walls.

I took some pics to share with you:

As you can see it's really a small castle, but it's an interesting piece of history in our region. In my city, Pistoia, we had an ancient fortress that is really larger then this castle (in the past I shared a lot of pics of it with you) and so this kind of ancient building are common to my eyes, but I think it could be very interesting for people who lives in different countries where the architectures are really different, so I ope you appreciated the pics. ^_^
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
