Another year, another challenge. You know the drill: the annual brain-bender where I have to remember it’s 2025 now, not 2024. Trust me, it’s like my mental gym workout every January. By April, I’ll still be scribbling 2024 somewhere...classic me. 😅
This time, though, we’ve strutted into the new year with loads of positivity, and I’m already buzzing with excitement about the fresh start! ✨
Now, if you caught my last article, you know I’ve spilled all the tea on how 2024 treated me and my big goals for this year. So, no repeats here. Let’s dive straight into how we spent our super cozy and hilarious New Year’s Eve.
For the first time in 13 years of living together, we rang in the New Year alone! Just me, my partner, and our furry Baou. Honestly, it was perfect. Who needs a crowded party when you’ve got good food, great company, and your dog practically glued to your side for cuddles?
But let me tell you about the fireworks. Oh boy. In our country, folks go full-on pyro mode the second the sun dips below the horizon. It’s like they’re competing for the “Loudest neighbor of the year” award. When we were at the store, we checked the price of a single firework—70 euros. SEVENTY. I almost fainted. Who’s got that kind of cash to literally burn?! 💸💥
Our relatives asked if we’d go watch the fireworks. Why would we, though? Living on the hill gives us a panoramic view of the entire city’s firework extravaganza, for free! The perks of staying home.
This year, for the first time ever, I spent New Year’s Eve with a nice little wine buzz. No raucous parties, just a romantic night in. We made dinner, chatted about life, and started a movie. Honestly, I almost fell asleep from all the cozy vibes. But no! I rallied like a champ and stayed up. 🏆
Come midnight, we sat by the window with our glasses raised. Baou nestled between us, her big eyes screaming, “Please keep petting me; the world’s exploding!” Poor thing. Fireworks freak her out every year. We cranked up the music to drown out the pops and bangs, but you could still hear the madness.
It’s hard to enjoy the glittery sky when your dog’s a trembling mess. We pet her nonstop, trying to calm her while the neighborly firework Olympics raged for an hour straight. I stepped onto the balcony for some quick pics but bolted back inside when Baou started barking again.
Still, cuddling on the couch with Baou and my partner, watching the world light up from our window? Pure magic. By 1 AM, we were all tucked in, snoozing like babies. 🥱💤
Oh, before I forget! @hivecreators made this awesome 2024 recap feature, and I couldn’t resist diving into my stats. Turns out, even though I didn’t flood the comment sections, I stuck to my promise of writing meaningful comments. Quality over quantity, right? And guess what? I’m super proud of what I accomplished on Hive this past year.
To everyone in our community, thank you for being amazing! Let’s keep growing, keep creating, and make 2025 even brighter. Hive really feels like a family, doesn’t it? 🥰
Here’s to an awesome year ahead, my friends. Let’s crush our goals, build up our community, and have some serious fun along the way. Cheers to you all! 2025, we’re coming for ya!
Enjoy, my lovelies! 😉
