“After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.”
― Nelson Mandela
It's funny how time flies, especially when we're in a good mood, meeting new people, going to many new places, discovering the world, ourselves, while doing our best to keep our heads high, eating healthy and making some great memories in the process.
Last few weeks have been filled with a lot of traveling, positive energy, great news from cardiologists, visiting two countries several times and the one I'm sharing with you is a road trip to Austria where I came along to experience to see a race track made for "toys for big boys".
We started from our club garage early in the morning, stopped at a local bakery to get some bread as everything else was closed while we had national day.
We had about an hour long drive, starting with a great twisty road surrounded with nature, forest, farm lands and quite a lot of high mountains in the background.
There was everything in the van, from whole RC model, it's tools, kind of like a tiny racing garage on a small, tiny scale.
I didn't really know what to expect, except that one of the model car's our club president drives is in the GT-E racing category and that alone is very fast car, definitely way too fast for me to control. There was also his son with us that was also competing in the race in the slightly different, a bit smaller scale so called stock cars. The biggest difference was in size, batteries, speed and their tires.
As we arrived there, to the LAMAC race track for model cars there were quite a lot of people out there, it was packed with everything service like tables to keep the RC model's ready for race, there was a leader board with all the times of the racers along with keeping it a tight schedule to know when we had to go back on the track.
I was there to help assist at servicing the cars, first there were 4 qualifying rounds of each category and their group. With that there were so called top 5 times of the drivers meaning, that the best time was counted from the fastest 5 laps combined.
That's how they made a category in which you were going forward to finals. With a transmitter keeping everything precise and really well organized.
There was also a rather small parking with some very interesting car's to look at, I'll let pictures tell the whole story.
Catching car's while moving on incredible pace down the race track was quite difficult, that's why I decided to share a few clips to tell the whole story. Incredible how fast these little things can move, depending on the model and the power of the motor, electric or on nitro.
There is a reason I kept clips very short, because they always ended in a crash when I took phone in my hand. Wishing for the best and no broken car I kept my phone on a distance.
This also made me forget about the life of watching out on everything happening in my body. It helps me be in the moment, learning new things, spending quality time with the club members and making my week as active as possible.
I am grateful to even be here writing this, that my life in the past months has started to feel alive again.
It took me over a year and half to start actually living, be in the present moment, not overthinking and feel to accept my body every beat at a time. While not worrying about my next step.
We packed everything and started our way back home late in the day with both having amazing times, his son even got to 3rd place in a junior stock class. Most importantly we had a great day, for me it was filled with new experience, new sounds, even smell of the tires, nitro powered rc cars and got to see how a race looks on a tarmac.
Ended an amazing day arriving home and going on a dinner right before bed time.
How nitro car looks under it's body, a beast!
Local old timer meeting in the parking lot.
Thank you for taking time to read, I wish you a good day or a good night and a good life.
