Sport hat die Kraft, die Welt zu verändern. Er hat die Kraft, zu inspirieren. Er hat die Kraft, Menschen zu vereinen, wie es sonst nur weniges kann. Sport kann Hoffnung erwecken, wo vorher nur Verzweiflung war.
Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that few other things can. Sport can awaken hope where before there was only despair.
Perspektive durch Sport
Laureus Sports for Good Germany ist die erste Nationale Stiftung von Lauresus Sports for Good. Sie hat das Ziel benachteiligte Kinder durch die Kraft des Sportes zu fördern und voranzubringen.
Mehr als 50.000 Kinder in Deutschland und Österreich haben bereits von den Förderprogrammen profitiert.
Weltweit arbeitet Laureus mit über 250 Programmen in 50 Ländern und half damit mehreren Millionen Kindern zwischen 8 und 18 Jahren ihr Leben selbst in die Hand zu nehmen.
Neben den Laureus Sports for Good Stiftungen gibt es noch die Laureus World Sports Academy mit 70 Spitzensportlern als Botschaftern und Jury für die jährlichen Laureus Sports Awards.
Diese helfen der Stiftung weitere Förderer anzusprechen und das Ziel der Stiftung zu verbreiten. Die Laureus World Sport Awards sind mit die bedeutendste Auszeichnung, die ein Sportler erhalten kann und damit heiß begehrt.
Perspective through sport
Laureus Sports for Good Germany is the first national foundation of Laureus Sports for Good. Its aim is to promote and advance disadvantaged children through the power of sport.
More than 50,000 children in Germany and Austria have already benefited from the support programmes.
Laureus works with over 250 programmes in 50 countries worldwide, helping several million children between the ages of 8 and 18 to take control of their own lives.
In addition to the Laureus Sports for Good foundations, there is also the Laureus World Sports Academy with 70 top athletes as ambassadors and judges for the annual Laureus Sports Awards.
These help the foundation to attract further sponsors and spread the foundation's goal. The Laureus World Sport Awards are one of the most important honours an athlete can receive and are therefore highly coveted.
Warum Laureus
Kinder aus Familien mit niedrigen Einkommen, niedrigem Bildungsstand oder sozialen Brennpunkten haben es deutlich schwerer einen guten Einstieg ins Leben zu finden.
Jedes Kind hat gute Chancen auf ein gutes Leben verdient. Laureus setzt genau hier an, indem es lokale Vereine fördert, die sich um diese Kinder kümmern. Bei der Vielzahl an Vereinen wäre es mir unmöglich zu entscheiden, welche Vereine gute Arbeit leisten und welche nicht.
Ich gehe davon aus, dass Laureus hier einen guten Job macht und dies deutlich besser macht als ich es könnte.
Daher erhält Laureus meine Spende im July und es wird sicherlich nicht die letzte sein.

Why Laureus
Children from families with low incomes, low levels of education or socially deprived areas have a much harder time getting a good start in life.
Every child deserves a good chance at a good life. This is precisely where Laureus comes in by supporting local clubs that look after these children. With so many clubs, it would be impossible for me to decide which clubs are doing a good job and which are not.
I assume that Laureus does a good job here and does it much better than I could.
That's why Laureus will receive my donation in July and it certainly won't be the last.
