Hello friends, how are you all doing today? I hope you are well and healthy. So I went to a different part of Lagos for a three days convention program which began on Friday and would be ending tomorrow Sunday.
I thought to myself, why don't I do my cleaning activity in this area?
That is how the motivation came about and after today's program, I got to my hotel room, changed into something simple and took a stroll round the area for my cleaning excercises.
The place is a very sandy region because it's close to the beach and according to history, the region was covered with water and was sand filled to build houses, no wonder it's so sandy.
I saw lots of dirt on the road, some were buried already in the sand and I had to pull it out of the sand. It's quite interesting to clean in a different area, I actually enjoyed the cleaning excercises and a it was a great opportunity for me to get to know my environment better.
I tried not to go too far though so that I don't get lost, after picking some of the dirt, I traced my way back to my hotel and yeah, I didn't get lost after all.
I had to go back with the dirt because I didn't see a trash bin to throw it in. When I got back to the hotel, one of the attendants asked why I had trash with me and I saw it as an opportunity to tell him about hive and the various communities one can be a part of just like clean planet. He understood my explanations and said he never knew something like hive existed.
He also encouraged me for the good work in keeping the environment clean and safe for everyone. There's this good feeling I always have when I do something that will impact positively in the lives of people around me.
I'm glad I made the move to extend my cleaning excercises to a new territory. This I would love to always apply when ever I find myself in a new environment, even if it's just for a short visit.
