I saw various articles about climate change but didn't get the full scope of it until now. A lot has changed with the weather situation globally, and Nigeria is as well feeling the effect of climate change at the moment. The seasons are indeed changing rapidly, and it bothers me how these changes will affect the weather further in the future.

It's been really chilly here in the past few weeks, and it's completely opposite of the kind of weather I used to know while growing up. Normally, we experience rainfall between May and October, which happens to be my best time of the year for me. I do not like heat, and as a student and due to my financial capabilities, avoiding heat is impossible since I don't have an air conditioner when it's extremely hot and my fan that helps can't work without electricity, which is very scarce here, so I am always stuck with the heat, but it is always different during the rainy season when the weather is always cool.
It's not like I love to see it rain every day, but I enjoy the weather a lot during that period. I feel like the rainy season is balanced despite the fact that we have a lot of wet days. It's awesome when the sun is up as it should and the rain will always pour to suppress the heat.
Unlike the regular rainfall during this time of the year, it has been excessively cold even without the rain. I complained about this to my friend, and she said humans can't be please because we will always request heat when there is cold and vice versa, but that's not the case.
What we are experiencing now is unusual, and right now, it feels like we are in the harmattan season, which normally comes between November and January. There is usually no rain during harmattan, but the weather is always cold, dry, windy, and dusty. I really do not like the harmattan season because it causes my skin to crack and I feel sick just like it is happening right now.
I have been feeling slightly under the weather for a few days just because of this unusual weather we are experiencing at this time of the year, and a lot of people are feeling the same way as well. Rain brings cold as well, but not this chilly kind that makes me almost inactive throughout a day.

Only if it rains will I believe this weather will stop being extremely cold. My favorite weather is the rainy season, and it will always be. As I mentioned earlier, the rainy season is balanced because the sun is always there to warm us up even though it rains, unlike now when we can't even feel the heat.
I barely use my fan because of the chilly weather, which saves me energy, but I don't feel good, and that's not okay with me. I wish it would rain and the weather would become normal again.
Climate change is really happening, and I hope we all contribute to the well-being of nature because, by doing that, we are also helping ourselves. Thanks.
