Today, I participated in a worthwhile activity that contributed to the general welfare of this environment, i.e., rubbish collection from my compound. This time, I saw all sorts of litter left on the ground – from food trays, plastic covers, and other waste disposal materials to general detritus that was randomly thrown all over the place. It is amazing how much garbage can build up in one's environment if one is not conscious of the litter.

Thus, during my cleanup, I tried to pick up common litter, such as spent packaging materials and solid small remains of food. Most of the time these are ignored, but these can be a nuisance to our environment if not taken care of properly. Thus, by disposing of this trash, we eliminate the probability of it getting into water sources or equally being dangerous to wildlife.
This activity also made me aware of how significant it is to do little ways to sustain the surroundings. And however brief it may only have been for, say, an hour or so just picking up trash around my premise, I was so privileged to be part of the larger solution in helping to sustain our planet.
I recommend everyone to engage themselves in such a way. It is frequently said that every little helps when it comes to looking after the environment.
