The holiday came in a flash and also ended in a flash. The long awaited festive holiday we lots have been waiting anxiously for since the eleventh month came just like that and also ended without a prior notice. Well, that was expected to an extent. Fair enough, we all knew in no time we will be back to our respective place of work, and just so you know it, every holiday must definitely come to an end. Now the holidays are over and some of us will be resuming our respective place of work on Monday, which happens to be the 6th day of the first month. I also heard some people resumed work immediately after the new year celebration ended, i guess we remote workers are very lucky, we can work from anywhere and that too at any time, God bless hive and the respective hands holding it together…
I already knew how my festive holiday would be long before we welcomed the twelve month of the year, and thanks to the situation of our country we all had no choice than to enjoy the festivities in a low-key manner. Even with the inflation happening every now and then, many people still celebrated the festive season in a grand way. Well, there are some of us who didn’t even go extra mile to make the days memorable, we just ate what was available to us and continued to enjoy the days like every other day. After all there is no where it is written in the Bible that we must have a grand celebration for Christmas. The most important thing is to spread love around on that day, be it within the family or to those around us. That’s the real definition of Christmas…
I remember a post i wrote some days ago, i think the topic we were writhing on that day was about our christmas highlights. I remember mentioning it in my post that i had no Christmas highlights this year, and that the day was like every other day for a thousand and one reasons. I knew how the Christmas celebration would be at my end but was completely doubtful of how the new year celebrations would turn out, and to God be the glory, my new year celebration this year was the best so far..
Now let’s head back to the question asked in the prompt;
What was my best experience during the festive holiday?…
PLAY JENGA FOR THE FIRST TIME..
As usual I spent my new year celebration in a friend’s place this year. This year’s celebration happened to be our second new year celebration together. I was fortunate enough to go there again this, but this time i didn’t go there alone, i went with my older siblings this time around, since we all were close acquaintances with each other…
We got there in the late evening, on getting there and making my way into the sitting room, the first thing my eyes spotted were the JENGA game laid on the table. I knew what it was the moment i saw it and immediately ran towards it to feel it and also take a closer look…
I couldn’t believe my eyes, i have only seen this game being played before on the tv screen and haven’t played it before in reality, the first time i saw it being played was during the Big brother naija reality show. I guess that was why i was able to recognize it at first glance…
I kept on pressuring everyone to let us play the game, and after we finished eating we eventually started the game, the happiness I felt that moment was boldly written on my face…
In summary, we played Jenga for over two hours with a shot of alcohol to be taken by anyone who falls the arraignment. I played over 7 rounds and didn’t get to taste the alcohol. We had 7-8 players on sit that day and at-least 5-7 of us drank a shot of alcohol each…
In conclusion, i didn’t fall the arrangement throughout the game, the game ended in the late hours of the day. I was crowned the Champion after the game ended, no one could believe that was my first time playing, but then it is what it is. Playing Jenga during the holiday was the best experience ever…
