Censorship between privacy and obligatory in the world of social media

in #hive-1503292 years ago

Elon Musk complained in a tweet via Twitter that YouTube allowed many videos and live broadcasts of his character, to trick people into selling things not made by Tesla, or participating in a contest by sending cryptocurrency to criminal accounts, among other things that raise suspicion.

The strange thing is that this has been happening for months, and only recently some sites began to pay attention to it, the BBC website mentioned that these channels use DeepFake technology to impersonate Elon Musk, and earned nearly $ 100 million last year, and in this The year was $30 million, and because people believed these channels, many lost their investments in cryptocurrencies.

YouTube is a huge site, and people upload 500 hours of video every minute, so censoring its content is not easy, and YouTube relies a lot on artificial intelligence programs to monitor content, but these programs cannot find everything, the live broadcast that fakes the character of Elon Musk will not appear It is content that deserves to be blocked, so having “self-censorship” moderators among us is essential, especially since tech companies don't employ many of them, and they work in one of the most difficult jobs because they are forced to watch bad content all day.

Facebook and YouTube

However, YouTube cannot evade its responsibility, as it is the second largest social network after Facebook and has a global impact, and it has strict policies towards the use of bad language in videos that prevents content creators from profiting from their content if there is something offensive in it, as well as it has a strict policy towards Intellectual rights to music, and others.

YouTube's reliance on censorship software makes it difficult for people to report bad content, because it reaches the programs first, and YouTube tries to automate this process as much as possible, which makes it a suitable arena for abuse of the site, because YouTube does not move to do something unless there is an uproar and external pressure to deal With the situation, even the tools it provides to content creators and consumers are ineffective or sufficient.

Therefore, people have to protect themselves, because the big technology companies do not do enough, and whatever you do, you will not be able to activate 100% protection, and what matters to us is that before you send your money or data, or any information related to your privacy to any party, make sure that it is not a fake.
