I was born on the border between Brazil and Argentina, a region called Campanha Gaúcha, where society is much more agricultural than industrialized. My mother was born in the countryside, worked in the fields as a child, but moved to the city, studied and became a teacher, so I ended up being born in the city.
This context made me value contact with nature, the simpler life in the countryside and also the education that gave my mother a better quality of life and meant that we could live more comfortably in the city.
However, despite having lived my whole life in the city, I always missed life in the countryside and contact with nature. One of the things I never got used to was the consumer society, where we are encouraged to continually acquire goods.
When people asked me if I would buy certain clothes, shoes and if I would go out on the weekend to a party, I always replied that I was satisfied with what I already had and with my more homely lifestyle.
To this day, when I visit a large city or go to the center, I observe how the vast majority of people work essentially to acquire goods and have experiences such as leisure trips in the city.
On the one hand, this is how most people have fun, but of course all of this has a cost and I see that some of these people end up going into debt to fulfill these desires.
On the other hand, I still prefer a simpler life, more homely leisure and an essentially necessary lifestyle, which completely satisfies me.

Eu nasci na fronteira do Brasil com a Argentina, um região denominada Campanha Gaúcha, onde a sociedade é muito mais agrícola do que industrializada. Minha mãe nasceu no campo, trabalhou na lavoura quando criança, mas mudou para a cidade, estudou e se tornou professora, assim acabei nascendo na cidade.
Este contexto fez com que eu valorizasse muito mais o contato com o natureza, a vida mais simples do interior e também a educação que deu mais qualidade de vida à minha mãe e fez com que pudéssemos viver com mais conforto na cidade.
No entanto, apesar de ter vivido minha vida toda na cidade, sempre senti falta da vida no interior e do contato com a natureza. Uma das coisas que nunca acostumei foi com a sociedade de consumo, onde somos incentivados a adquirir bens continuamente.
Quando me perguntavam se compraria determinada roupa, calçado e se sairia no fim de semana para alguma festa, eu sempre respondia que estava satisfeito com o que eu já tinha e com o meu estilo de vida mais caseiro.
Até hoje, quando visito uma grande cidade ou vou até o centro, fico observando como a grande maioria das pessoas trabalham essencialmente para adquirir bens e viver experiências como passeios de lazer na cidade.
Por um lado, é assim que a maioria das pessoas se diverte, mas é claro que tudo isso tem um custo e vejo que uma parte destas pessoas acaba se endividando para realizar tais desejos.
Por outro lado, sigo preferindo uma vida mais simples, um lazer mais caseiro e um estilo de vida essencialmente necessário, que me satisfaz plenamente.
