I'm presenting this photo as part of the POBphotocontest organized by @friendlymoose this week's theme is SAND, here's the link to the introductory post:

The photo was taken last month during my vacation at Saint Girons plage
I put the coordinates for @travelfeed and @worldmappin
Situated in the south-west of France, in the Landes region, there are hundreds of kilometers of fine sandy beaches and it's a surfer's paradise.
Swimming is dangerous, however, as currents in places can take you out to sea, but there are plenty of supervised areas.
The area is ideal for long walks, and after a few minutes you'll find yourself all alone with the beach and ocean as far as the eye can see.
The photo was taken at the top of a dune, and the expanse on the right is a pine forest that was exploited for its sap just a few decades ago.
The dunes were created in Napoleon's time as a sanitation project, as the forest of today was once swampy.
The ecosystem is fragile and the various plants that grow on the dunes are protected.
I chose this photo because it also shows my Golden Retriever, whose coat color is close to that of the sand. He's passionate about the landscape and loves the waves, in which he plays tirelessly.
