It's 5 pm around here and we have celebrated Labor Day with the family. Between some mates, I want to share with you this "virtue or obsession" that accompanies me in everything I do: the constant search for originality.

Cuando buscamos hacer las cosas de un modo distinto, estamos demostrando inconscientemente, que lo que hace la masa no nos conforma. Que se puede buscar hacer algo mejor o al menos diferente, claro que este siempre termina siendo el camino más difícil.

De buscar esa marca personal que haga que el resto se enamore de ti y de tu trabajo.
Misma situación si eres independiente, creo que la originalidad y la creatividad es tan buscada como el precio, a la hora de conseguir clientes.

Same situation if you are independent, I believe that originality and creativity is as sought after as price when it comes to getting clients.

Las rosas y chocolates son un clásico, pero siempre será mejor recibida una actitud original: ¿Qué tal una entrada para ver su película favorita? ¿Una escapada de fin de semana de sorpresa? ¿Cocinarle su plato predilecto? ¿Un voucher de Día de Spa? La recepción de comidas no podría estar distribuída en mesas o en bandejas para una persona que se considera original, por eso lo haré a través de unos stand de madera temáticos con autoservicio (hechos a mano por nosotros). ¿Los zapatos? Les pegaré strass para hacerlos únicos, justamente hace poco he leído en Hive la entrada de una chica que hizo esta artesanía y me inspiró.

Si sientes que la originalidad no es lo tuyo, te dejo 5 hacks que pueden ayudar a destacar tu personalidad en lo que haces:

1️⃣ Primero siéntate a pensar cómo lo harían los demás, o qué se acostumbra a hacer en dicha situación. Luego descarta esas opciones y piensa otras formas o maneras. La llamada lluvia de ideas ó brainstorming es una herramienta útil. Puedes “insipirarte” (no copiar) en las ideas de otros para crear las tuyas. A veces una imagen o un título es el disparador para crear una buena idea.
2️⃣ Ponte en el lugar del otro. De quién recepcionará ese “algo” o esa actividad en la que buscas ser original. ¿Qué te gustaría que tuviera? ¿Qué detalles serían innegociables? ¿Qué mensaje quisieras que transmita?
3️⃣ Personaliza! Si es algo que le darás a los demás, busca las motivaciones, gustos y preferencias de esas personas. Pregúntate ¿Cómo puedo lograr que él/ella quede encantada y recuerde mi actitud?
4️⃣ Si se trata de vender un intangible como tu talento; piensa en todas esas habilidades y virtudes que te diferencian y te hacen único. Aplícalas en cada cosa que hagas. Nadie es igual a nosotros, y ese es nuestro poder (si lo hacemos notar, claro).
5️⃣ Busca el equilibrio, entre lo que la gente espera y tus preferencias personales. Y como dice la frase, sobre gustos no hay nada escrito: lo que algunos consideren como original, quizás para otros sea moneda corriente. Pero no te preocupes, la intención de hacerlo lo mejor posible, será lo que prevalezca.
