A Hive veteran once asked me, why do I find the badges I get on @Hivebuzz interesting and why do I bother collecting them?
What I do on Hive is a certain kind of fun for me, and to spice up the fun a little more, I add tasks to myself.
It's nothing special and difficult, but it helps me to stay alert and not forget some "obligations" that I have taken on myself...
So I set myself the task of doing a manual Power UP (PUP) every day. I could have avoided it by setting it to 100%, however, I somehow find it more interesting to do that task manually (same as for manual voting).
In addition to the daily PUP activity, the HP on my account increases, at the end of the month, when we do a PUP every day or when we publish a post with 100% PUP every day, we get a delegated amount of HP from the HiveBuzz team.
So, in addition to the badges in our possession, we also have some benefits (for ourselves, but also for others, because more HP also brings more rewards to others when we vote for their posts).
But, this month, I had a very tight schedule and a lot of obligations. And so one day (20.11), when we were the organizers and celebrating a birthday, I missed doing PUP.
I got around to undoing the post (if I knew I wouldn't be able to do the PUP, I could have done a different setup) but I forgot that I didn't increase my HP that day.
I had a great time that day, I enjoyed the company, food and drink. I'm not very sorry, but it's still a little because I failed to do what I set myself as a daily task.
And today, while I was in a children's toy store, choosing a present for a child's birthday, I came across a toy from the past, which we were all obsessed with (even though we were adults then, each of us had our own pendant, our own chickens that we fed and took care of him).
Tamagotchi, the first virtual reality pet.
And as I held the box of this toy in my hand, I remembered how we used to joke when one of us had a virtual pet die...
What do you think, judging by my confession and the proof of the missed day for PUP, did my virtual pet survive?
